Lumin Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Lumin. If you have questions, contact legal@lumin.app.
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Lumin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which are governed by the laws of the European Union and the Netherlands.
If you are using Lumin on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf and to comply with EU data protection and consumer regulations.
Accounts & responsibilities
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. Account credentials should never be shared outside of your organisation.
Teachers and administrators are responsible for ensuring student use complies with applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national education requirements.
Lumin may suspend accounts that violate acceptable use guidelines, compromise platform security, or otherwise contravene European regulatory obligations.
Subscription & payment
Fees for paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your subscription, and include applicable EU VAT unless stated otherwise.
School contracts follow the terms outlined in the applicable order form or master services agreement, including any data processing addendum required under EU law.
You can cancel your individual subscription at any time. Refunds are processed in accordance with EU consumer protection rules and local regulations.
Intellectual property
All content, including lessons, assessments, and software, is owned by Lumin Labs or its licensors.
You retain ownership of the content you upload. By submitting content, you grant Lumin a licence to host and display it to deliver the service.
Limitation of liability
Lumin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable EU law, Lumin Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our aggregate liability related to the service is limited to the fees paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, except where prohibited by European consumer protections.
Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands and applicable European Union regulations.
Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory protections afforded to consumers in their country of residence.
